Projection is key:
In this day and age, many "professional" oboe reeds out there have a small and anemic sound, but are being advertised and sold as "Schwarzenegger" sounding reeds. Of course, you may sound great in your little practice room, but, how about in the middle of a full orchestra? Our oboe reeds are dark-sounding, yet Cut Through any orchestra or ensembles.

Our Pro oboe reeds are made in the American style, with blended scrape; V-shaped tip (somewhat horizontal, like in the picture), ample heart, thick and strong spine and side rails, and well defined windows which blend in the heart. They are very comfortable, with a stable pitch, outstanding low and high registers, dark sound and great projection.

When finished, the length of the reeds goes from 68 to 69mm so they can produce a “C” crow at 4.40. "Lucarelli" shape, which is the combination of the "Mack-1" and "Bloom" shapes. What Lucarelli achieved with this avant-garde shape, is, in his own words: “Capitalizing Mack's Stability and Bloom's Warmth.”

As an oboe player, you know how delicate new reeds are. Reeds are very sensitive to moisture, dry weather, change of temperature and altitude, and various other factors that might change your reeds’ characteristics over time and also during shipping. Therefore, be open to minor adjustments so the reeds perfectly adapt to your playing.
